Senior Data Analyst – Cape Town – R650k to R850k per annum

POSITION INFO :

A leader in the healthcare market committed to increasing access to affordable primary healthcare for all South Africans through its retail pharmacy and wholesale businesses is looking to recruit a Senior Data Analyst to work within their Internal Audit department. The role supports the department's goals to enhance the efficient and effective use of data analytics by obtaining more timely access to and management of data assets.

Responsibilities :

• Assist in investigations and other management requests by gathering, sorting, and analyzing relevant data.
• Proactively identify data anomalies that could indicate control issues.
• Collaborate with internal auditors to understand data needs and develop ways to perform audits more efficiently.
• Drive the implementation of a continuous monitoring framework using data analytics to support internal audit projects.
• Perform special reviews of operations as requested.
• Link different data streams, create visualizations, and enhance skills in SAS, ACL, Tableau, and other visualization tools.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Bachelor's degree or higher in quantitative or related fields.
• Postgraduate degree in relevant fields (advantageous).
• 5-8 years of data analytics experience.
• Experience in data management, governance, data acquisition, modeling, data structures, and architecture.
• 3-5 years of experience with financial systems or system auditing.
• Proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Experience with data analytics tools like ACL, SAS, IDEA, or similar.
• Knowledge of internal audit and risk assessment methodologies.
