Praesignis (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support a range of data initiatives within a banking environment in South Africa. The role emphasizes data analysis, requirements, data quality, ETL, SQL, data mapping, testing, reconciliation and production data support across enterprise data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and data requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Perform data profiling, impact assessments and gap analysis.
• Develop source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.
• Analyse data models, ETL processes, interfaces and downstream data consumers.
• Use SQL and SSIS/ETL to investigate and validate data.
• Define data quality, reconciliation and business rules.
• Support SIT, UAT, regression and production validation.
• Investigate data issues, failed loads and reporting discrepancies.
• Support data governance, metadata, lineage and data catalogue activities.
• Work with stakeholders to validate requirements and obtain sign-off.
• Support data projects, enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Our client, a leading South African banking group, is looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support a range of data initiatives within its banking environment.

The role will focus on data analysis, requirements, data quality, ETL, SQL, data mapping, testing, reconciliation and production data support across enterprise data platforms.

The successful candidate will work with business and technical stakeholders to analyse data requirements, investigate data issues, define data and transformation rules, support development and testing activities, and ensure data outputs are accurate, traceable and fit for purpose.

Experience within AML, regulatory or financial services data environments would be highly advantageous.
