Role Purpose
The purpose of the Data Analyst II is to contribute to the organization's data analytics capabilities by leveraging data assets to derive actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. The role collaborates cross-functionally to conduct thorough analyses, identify trends, and provide valuable recommendations to support business objectives. The role plays a key part in translating data insights into meaningful outcomes and fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within datasets.
- Utilize statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modelling to derive actionable insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and the leadership team to define the long-term data strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide analytical support for key projects
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand analysis requirements, hypotheses, and questions, proposing scalable data-led solutions.
- Manage data collection and application of analytical techniques, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
- Define and write intricate business requirements to transform data into actionable insights and graphical representations.Develop and implement data models and algorithms to support business objectives and initiatives.
- Design, code, test, document, and support applications consistent with business requirements, overseeing post-implementation reviews.
- Develop comprehensive dashboards and reports, presenting analytical findings using data visualization techniques to facilitate decision-making tied to enterprise goals.
- Support business managers in integrating and embedding data to unlock strategic insights.
- Identify and mitigate data challenges, deploying appropriate solutions to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Define data quality standards and monitor performance of data structures and models.
- Plan and prioritize data projects across various analytics domains, considering business and technical trade-offs.
- Provide support for complex problems or enhancements of dashboards, presentations, or reports, leveraging expertise and creativity.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource, sharing updated knowledge and best practices with teams and cross-functional partners for continual optimization of analytical processes and designs.
- Lead smaller-scale analysis projects independently, from data collection to presentation of insights.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on analytical methodologies and best practices.
- Continuously explore and adopt new data analysis tools and techniques to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field (essential).
- +4 years’ experience in a data analysis role or related field, demonstrating proficiency in advanced data analysis techniques (essential).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data analysis toolkits (essential).
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) (preferred).
- Ability to lead and manage analysis projects independently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
