About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Cybersecurity Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise security solutions. This role, based in Randburg, Gauteng , operates on a hybrid model, requiring a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. You will be instrumental in defining the cybersecurity roadmap, ensuring that security is embedded into the design of all IT systems and applications. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to architect comprehensive security frameworks that protect against a wide range of threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide cybersecurity architecture, including network security, endpoint security, data security, and cloud security.
• Develop security standards, best practices, and reference architectures.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application development, and operations teams to integrate security controls into system designs and lifecycles.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for new systems and architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on cybersecurity matters to project teams.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, including diagrams and specifications.
• Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
• Ensure security architecture aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a cybersecurity architecture role.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex enterprise security solutions.
• Deep understanding of security domains including network security, cryptography, identity and access management, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and application security.
• Familiarity with various security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working within a hybrid work model, residing within commuting distance of Randburg, Gauteng.
