The ideal candidate has a master’s in Education or STEM, 6+ years in curriculum development, and strong instructional design with remote collaboration experience. PhD welcome; growth and impact are core to the role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Curriculum Development or relevant STEM field.
• PhD is a plus and extensive STEM curriculum experience.
• Minimum 6 years designing STEM curricula at secondary/tertiary level.
• Strong instructional design knowledge and agile project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of STEM curricula aligned with standards.
• Create lesson plans, activities, assessments, and digital resources.
• Collaborate with SMEs to translate STEM concepts into pedagogically sound content.
• Develop innovative STEM teaching approaches using technology and hands-on activities.
• Manage curriculum projects from concept to completion with timelines and quality.

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in educational content creation, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Curriculum Developer with a specialized focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from any location within South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and developing engaging, rigorous, and standards-aligned STEM curricula for various educational levels. You will lead curriculum projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with subject matter experts to create cutting-edge learning materials. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a relevant STEM field (e.g., Science, Mathematics, Engineering).
• A PhD is a plus.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in curriculum development, with a strong emphasis on STEM education at the secondary or tertiary level.
• Demonstrated expertise in instructional design principles and methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead curriculum projects and manage cross-functional teams.
• Excellent understanding of pedagogical theories and best practices in STEM teaching and learning.
• Strong content knowledge in at least two of the STEM disciplines.
• Proficiency with educational technology tools and digital content creation platforms.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
• Experience working effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment is essential.
