Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a Senior Cryptography Engineer to join our advanced R&D team. You will design, implement, and analyze cryptographic protocols underpinning our blockchain systems and digital asset solutions.

You will work with state-of-the-art techniques to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security, while collaborating with researchers and industry experts to stay at the forefront of cryptographic advancements.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master in Cryptography, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience in applied cryptography research and development.
• Strong foundation in number theory, abstract algebra, and information theory.
• Experience implementing cryptographic primitives and protocols in C++, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with blockchain security principles and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced cryptographic algorithms and protocols for blockchain applications.
• Analyze the security of existing cryptographic implementations and identify weaknesses.
• Research novel cryptographic techniques, including zero-knowledge proofs, homomorphic encryption, and post-quantum cryptography.
• Develop and maintain cryptographic libraries and tools to support engineering teams.
• Collaborate with academic researchers and industry experts to stay at the forefront of cryptographic advancements.
