The purpose of this role, among others, is to:
- Develop, maintain, and improve an integrated cost controls system for at least a R10 billion mega project in line with TCTA framework for project development, implementation, governance, and accepted local and international best practices.
- Develop an integrated project cost baseline document for approval by the TCTA Board as part of the project charter.
- Report on project cost performance against TCTA Board-approved project charter budget commitments and forecast cost to completion.
- Develop, maintain, and manage an integrated change and risk management system, including processes, procedures, and internal delegations, to support zero-based reportable annual incidences.
- Develop an integrated cost control governance framework aligned with TCTA project governance framework and ensure adherence to it.
Key Performance Areas:
- Develop and maintain a governance-based integrated project cost control system.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast-based cost reports for internal and stakeholder reporting.
- Monitor and track project risks and changes against the approved project cost baseline and the project charter budget commitments.
- Manage change processes against cost baseline documents and contractual commitments.
- Contract administration and timely payment of invoices.
- Maintain high standards of cost reporting, ensuring project health status is accurately reflected through tracking and reporting of changes, risks, remaining contingencies, and risk allowances.
- People management.
- Participate in progress meetings with service providers.
- Conduct assurances and audits.
Qualifications: B Degree / B Tech in Engineering, QS / BCom
Experience: 8 years of Project Cost Control or QS experience.
