Job summary

Job description

The purpose of this role, amongst others, is to:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve an integrated cost controls system for a mega project valued at least R10 billion, aligned with the TCTA framework, governance standards, and international best practices.
  • Develop an integrated project cost baseline document for approval by the TCTA Board as part of the project charter.
  • Report on project cost performance against the approved budget commitments and forecast costs to completion.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage an integrated change and risk management system, including processes, procedures, and internal delegations to support zero-based reportable incidences annually.
  • Develop an integrated cost control governance framework aligned with the TCTA project governance framework and ensure compliance.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Develop and maintain a governance-based integrated project cost control system.
  2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast-based cost reports for internal and stakeholder reporting.
  3. Monitor and track project risks and changes against the approved cost baseline and project charter budget.
  4. Manage the change process in relation to the cost baseline and contractual commitments.
  5. Contract administration and timely payment of invoices.
  6. Maintain high standards of cost reporting, ensuring the project's health status is accurately reflected through tracking and reporting of changes, risks, and contingencies.
  7. People management.
  8. Participate in progress meetings with service providers.
  9. Conduct assurances and audits.

Qualifications:

  • B Degree / B Tech in Engineering, QS, or BCom.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Project Cost Control or Quantity Surveying.
