Our client in the gold mining sector is seeking an experienced Cost Accounting leader to oversee mining cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management. You will mentor a finance team and drive cost-control initiatives across operations.

The role requires deep knowledge of mining production costing, variance analyses, and profitability assessments, with strong leadership capabilities to manage and develop team members.

Qualifications

• 6–7 years of experience in Cost Accounting.
• Mining industry experience is non‑negotiable.
• 5 years management or team leadership experience is essential.
• Proven experience within operational finance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Strong exposure to mining production costing and financial performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cost accounting function across mining operations.
• Manage and mentor junior finance and costing team members.
• Analyze operational and production costs and provide strategic recommendations.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, variance analyses, and profitability assessments.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
• Partner with operational management to improve efficiencies and cost controls.
• Monitor production performance against budgets and financial targets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inventory, stock, and operational cost management.
