Job Description

As VP of Product and Operations, you'll be at the forefront of the company's mission to enable the world's most prominent merchants to scale their businesses seamlessly in South Africa and beyond.

You'll shape product strategy, drive operational excellence, and lead complex cross-border payment solutions.

Your focus will go beyond foundational growth: you will scale our operations, improve merchant success, and solidify the company's role as a key player in Africa's payment ecosystem.

Your daily adventures include:

  1. Product leadership: Define and own the product vision, drive product innovation, navigate complex regulations.
  2. Operational excellence: Mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  3. Client success programs.
  4. Merchant scale: Localize for impact.
  5. Strategic partnerships.
  6. Leadership & team development: Scale high-performing teams, lead cross-functional teams, promote cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

What it takes to succeed:

  1. A strategic product and operations leader with deep experience in fintech, payments, remittance, or SaaS, ideally in high-growth or complex markets.
  2. 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles with a proven track record of scaling products and operations in regulated environments.
  3. Strong B2B and B2C product management background, cross-border payments, and merchant success optimization.
  4. Expertise in global payments ecosystems, remittance networks, digital currencies, and alternative payment methods.
  5. Skilled in navigating multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks and managing regulatory relationships.
  6. Experienced in data-driven decision-making using analytics to improve operations, reduce costs, and enhance merchant outcomes.
  7. A natural leader who can build and scale high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative, transparent, and results-driven culture.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Experience in B2B selling of a tech service or SaaS product into the large business market.
  2. A prospective solid network of potential clients and reselling partners.
  3. Experience in rapidly structuring and scaling a sales organization in multiple locations; scale-up/start-up experience is advantageous.
  4. Demonstrated sales management experience, including hiring, developing, and driving accountability.
  5. Proven ability to manage sales teams from different cultures in diverse countries.
  6. Experience with fast-paced scale-up environments; thrives on the challenge of getting things done quickly and delivering results.
  7. Experience in an international and diverse team environment.
