Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our Bloemfontein team. The role focuses on design, implementation, and optimization of industrial automation and control systems across diverse projects.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Electrical/Mechatronics and 7+ years' experience with Siemens/Rockwell PLCs, SCADA, and programming in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and C++. Hybrid work flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
Extensive experience with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA software.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and C++.
Strong understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation, and process control principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Design, program, and commission sophisticated PLC and SCADA systems for industrial processes.
Develop and implement advanced control algorithms and automation strategies to optimize system performance.
Integrate various control components, including sensors, actuators, HMI, and network devices.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior control engineers and technicians.
Troubleshoot complex automation issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define system requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
