Job description

Pele Energy Group is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and self-driven Senior Contracts Manager, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

The Senior Contracts Manager will lead the contract management department, develop and oversee the contract management team, and manage the implementation of the company's IPP projects via selected EPC contractors and partnerships from Financial Close (FC) through to COD and final takeover.

Requirements

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing a portfolio of complex initiatives across multiple business milestones.
  2. Reporting on project success criteria, metrics, testing, and deployment activities.
  3. Collaborating with engineering teams for optimal project scope.
  4. Establishing practices, templates, policies, and tools to enhance contract management capabilities.
  5. Providing status reports on project milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership.
  6. Managing project scope and changes effectively.
  7. Participating in feasibility studies, vendor selection, and proposal evaluations.
  8. Ensuring quality control and resolving quality issues.
  9. Prioritizing safety and compliance with local legislation and standards.
  10. Supporting dispute resolution, negotiations, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
  11. Managing schedules and engagement contracts.
  12. Setting and managing project expectations and deliverables.
  13. Monitoring outcomes and resolving conflicts or dependencies.
  14. Developing and delivering progress reports and presentations to stakeholders.
  15. Mentoring and supervising the contract management team.
  16. Ensuring projects proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  17. Managing project risks and issues to mitigate impacts.
  18. Providing leadership and motivation to the contract management team.
  19. Expanding contract management practices, templates, and tools.
  20. Reporting Environmental Health Safety findings.
  21. Analyzing objectives and stakeholder interests for successful outcomes.
  22. Minimizing operational impacts of projects.
  23. Delivering projects cost-effectively to meet financial targets.
  24. Providing regular progress updates and advising on escalations and decisions.
  25. Managing risks, opportunities, contracts, and claims.
  26. Updating project documentation and risk matrices throughout the project lifecycle.
  27. Overseeing change order procedures and claims management.
  28. Conducting due diligence on suppliers and subcontractors.
  29. Maintaining contractual awareness and communication with all stakeholders.
  30. Supporting project managers with documentation and compliance.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, or related field (Law Degree preferred but not mandatory).
  • 10+ years of contract management experience with project tracking and planning.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with full product lifecycles and technology methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong results orientation and accountability.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments and collaborate across functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influence, and change facilitation skills.
  • Decisiveness in problem-solving and prioritization.
  • Deep understanding of project and program management principles.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of business drivers.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Valid Driver's license.
