As Senior Contracts Counsel / Specialist you will provide sales and procurement-related Contract Services to Middle East and Africa region including French speaking Africa, with minimal levels of supervision.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :

  • Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, with minimal supervision by more senior Contract Services staff, including in : Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP / RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests; Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;
  • Takes the Contracts Lead role on Complex international project contracts; Frame agreements;
  • Takes the Contracts Lead role on more complex projects and frame agreements as experience develops;
  • Interfaces with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson partners to bring deals to closure;
  • Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;
  • Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;

For This Role, You Will Need :

  • 5+ years of work experience in a contracts-related role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Excellent oral and written English and French language skills; other languages are an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart :

  • Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages / penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees / sureties
  • Completion of WorldCC Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Training Program to Practitioner Level strongly preferred
  • Experience in a complex Matrix organization
  • Additional language skills
