Job description

Our client in the Logistics Industry is seeking a Senior Consultant: Operational Excellence to join their team in KZN.

Purpose of the role :

The Senior Consultant: OE is responsible for enabling and facilitating the adoption of the operational excellence culture within the KZN Operations through change management, training, and coaching of the business units and/or contracts on continuous improvement tools.

Responsibilities :
  • Develop and implement a Lean deployment plan to achieve ROI through waste elimination, cost reduction, and improved operational efficiencies.
  • Manage the implementation of the Operational Excellence program across all KZN operations.
  • Ensure alignment between OE initiatives and BU/contract strategies.
  • Develop internal problem-solving capacity via training and coaching on methodologies, Kaizens, and Kaizen events.
  • Ensure Lean foundational practices are embedded in all responsibilities.
  • Participate in developing Lean Practitioners within the area.
  • Act as a Change Agent to facilitate the adoption of the OE culture, removing barriers to success.
  • Assess OE program progress and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Assist colleagues with measuring, tracking, and reporting financial benefits from improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Expand the use of OE methodologies and structured problem-solving as an OE Champion.
Requirements :

The minimum qualifications and experience required are :

  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • At least 2 years of experience in operations, preferably in a Supply Chain environment
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing OE programs
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
