Job description
Based at our client's Head Office in Cape Town, this position requires you to find innovative ways to leverage the vast amount of data and information at your disposal to create customer strategies that drive up profit within constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the team to achieve a balanced credit portfolio by accurately forecasting expected results.
Develop and implement champion / challenger customer strategies that deliver performance in line with Board expectations.
Monitor portfolio performance and ensure book performance meets pre-defined KPIs by proactively proposing changes.
Investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions, and validate analytical results to ensure accuracy of findings.
Undertake analysis to determine the impact of strategy changes on areas of application and account management strategies.
Present ideas via reports and presentations, outlining findings and making recommendations for improvements to senior stakeholders.
Forecast and monitor implemented strategies using statistical techniques.
Project manage the implementation of strategy changes into live systems.
Ensure compliance with IFRS9, credit strategy rules, and risk registers.
Assist in growing the team with relevant support, training programs, and mentorship.
Key Requirements
Relevant post-graduate Degree with mathematical or statistical subjects preferred; Business Science Degree / B Degree or equivalent.
8+ years' experience in consumer credit within a Credit Risk analytics environment, with demonstrated ability to implement solutions based on analytical projects.
Understanding of the credit life cycle.
Revolving store card or credit card experience is advantageous.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure within structured and unstructured parameters.
Predictive analytics experience with a highly numerate background is advantageous.
Must be able to monitor models and report back to the board.
Experience in SAS (base, Enterprise Guide, or SAS Viya) and SAS Sequel / SAS Python is extremely advantageous.
High attention to detail and integrity, maintaining confidentiality.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to monitor models and report findings effectively to senior stakeholders.
