Solugrowth is looking for a Senior Accounting Consultant

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyse complex financial information and prepare financial reports. Adheres to and communicates accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
  • Analyses accounts, records, and reports. Investigates and resolves any accounting issues within area of responsibility. Maintains general ledger accounts.
  • Works directly with internal customers on inquiries and issue resolution by directly responding to customer emails or Remedy tickets. Meets with customers for complex inquiries to resolve issues.
  • Reviews & approves journal entries and account reconciliations within approved thresholds, using accounting judgment & experience.
  • Uses analytical skills to source data efficiently, transform data into meaningful information, and communicate effectively with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Reviews variances, detects potential errors, documents processes creating the variances, and executes corrective actions if required.
  • Performs period-end financial close responsibilities, prepares data for financial statements and regulatory filings, including journal entries and invoice coding.
  • Performs complex reconciliations, analyses variances, and proposes necessary adjusting entries.
  • Researches complex questions, investigates variances, and communicates findings to management.
  • Recommends and reviews process improvements, explores system and procedure modifications, and advocates for change with leadership.
  • Prepares reports supporting internal and external audits.
  • Communicates with finance and non-finance partners to confirm accounting outcomes.
  • Develops desktop procedures to document tasks clearly.
  • Provides excellent customer service to Mastercard worldwide business partners.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
  • Establishes performance indicators to monitor progress.
  • Performs ad-hoc reporting, analysis, or projects as needed.
  • Supports SOX control compliance.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum requirement: B. Comm or equivalent.
  • Completed SAICA articles preferred.
  • 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience in E-Commerce or FinTech industries.
  • Multinational experience preferred.
  • Shared Services environment experience preferred.
