Introduction

The Senior ConstructionManager will oversee and manage the effective construction and implementation of a Solar PV Plant augmentation project at an existing facility. The individual will be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor's work, ensuring it meets quality, schedule, and cost requirements as required by the employer.

The role extends to management of the EPC contract and management of the interface between the EPC and the O&M (Operation and Maintenance) contractor of the existing facility. The Senior Construction Manager will report to the employer on a monthly basis or as requested, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight & Management Manage day-to-day operations of the project site and ensure work is being completed per contractual agreements.
  • Oversee the work of the EPC contractor to ensure the project meets the agreed-upon quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation Continuously monitor the progress of the EPC contractor, ensuring adherence to project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and provide corrective action plans as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Reporting Provide detailed monthly reports to the employer on project status, including technical, financial, and schedule performance.
  • Prepare and present progress reports at regular intervals, highlighting any risks or challenges encountered on-site and proposed mitigation measures.
  • Communication Act as the primary point of contact between: The employer and the EPC contractor
  • The EPC contractor and the O&M contractor
  • Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at the project site.
  • Identify potential risks to the project and implement risk mitigation strategies

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8years of experience in managing construction or engineering projects, preferably within the solar PV or renewable energy sector.
  • Previous experience working on EPC contracts and overseeing contractors on-site.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of solar PV systems and project lifecycle management. Knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and construction regulations.
