Placements24 is seeking a Senior AI/ML Research Engineer specializing in Computer Vision to join its advanced research division in Sandton, Gauteng. You will push the boundaries of visual intelligence by developing novel algorithms and models for object recognition, segmentation, and 3D vision.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or a related field with CV specialization.
• 5–7 years of CV research experience with a strong publication record in top venues.
• Expertise in deep learning architectures and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong programming skills in Python and C++.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research in computer vision, focusing on deep learning-based approaches.
• Design, implement, and evaluate novel algorithms for image recognition, object detection, segmentation, tracking, and other vision tasks.
• Develop and train deep neural networks using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Process and analyze large-scale image and video datasets.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate research prototypes into applications.
• Stay current with computer vision and ML literature.
• Publish research findings in top academic conferences/journals.
• Contribute to patent applications and IP portfolio.
• Optimize algorithms for performance on various hardware.
• Mentor junior researchers and foster a collaborative environment.
