Senior Compliance Advisor

Hello… an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Group Finance Assurance Area.

We are looking to recruit a Head: Group Reporting.

Job Purpose: Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, the Head: Reporting is responsible for Management and Statutory Reporting for the Life, Non-Life, and Group Companies, as well as providing technical support to the finance function and business units. Responsible for the development of all team members and capability of these functions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and manage the group reporting function including management and statutory reporting, providing guidance to business unit finance on inputs required for reporting, accounting standards updates, and technical assistance where needed.
2. This role also serves as the custodian of financial controls over reporting and integrity of the general ledger.
3. Coordinate and manage the Transformation team (BBBEE Scorecard), including management of the annual BBBEE verification audit, guidance to business units in terms of criteria to be met to achieve targeted scores for Transformation elements.
4. Drive processes with all stakeholders to ensure that the Group Goal for Transformation is met.
5. Responsible for all internal and external financial reporting requirements of the Hollard group.
6. Provide strategic financial support in assessing business performance by monitoring the key regulatory risks, including insurance ratios, insurance reserving, and other governance and risk management practices.
7. Perform portfolio reviews in terms of business unit financial results, track KPI's, and provide comments and insights.
8. Manage the preparation of the monthly and quarterly Group financial reports, Board packs, and Exco packs.
9. Provide Finance leadership on Process Efficiency, Business Performance Measures and Management, Analytical Support, and Predictive Analysis.
10. Ensure financial controls are designed, implemented, and managed within the financial reporting environment.
11. Management and coordination of the annual Budgeting process including budget design, budget packs, and budget timetables.
12. Management of Group-wide Planning and forecasting process across the Hollard Group.
13. Provide technical accounting support to business units and drive implementation of technical standards in Hollard Group.
14. Research changes to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and responsible for the development of Hollard actions in response to the changes.
15. Manage the Year-End process including the External audit relationship, the coordination of the annual audit process, as well as deliverables to the Audit Committee.
16. Manage the preparation of the consolidated Annual Financial Statements.
17. Coordinate regulatory reporting from a finance perspective (SAM and SARB).
18. Drive balance sheet management across the Group.
19. Custodian of Hollard Group General ledger and Reporting tools.
