We are looking to build on our success in coastal engineering and are seeking a highly motivated Senior Coastal Engineer to join the Ports and Terminals team in our Cape Town office.

Our coastal pipeline currently involves diverse coastal structure design, metocean design conditions, and inputs for ports projects, dredging, adaptation planning, and coastal management support. We are looking for a coastal enthusiast to help us deliver and expand our current and upcoming opportunities.

As the successful candidate, you will be:

You bring to the role:

  • Relevant qualifications, e.g., a Master’s in Ports and/or Coastal Engineering or Science
  • A commitment to professional development of others and staying updated with the latest advancements in coastal engineering and science
  • Professional registration with ECSA (or similar international bodies)
  • Deep knowledge of coastal processes modelling (using Delft3D and/or Mike) and oversight of modelling work. Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards in the marine and coastal environment
  • Experience in managing data acquisition campaigns, including hydrographic, metocean, and meteorological data sets
  • Data analysis and manipulation skills relevant to Ports and Coastal fields
  • Leading coastal design packages within interdisciplinary project teams
  • Project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate and work within a team environment
  • Leadership in project teams and resource management
  • Technical reviews and verification of designs
  • A passion and drive to make a real difference
