Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Infrastructure to join their technology team in Nelspruit. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud platforms that support core business operations.

You will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and site reliability practices, automate provisioning, monitor performance, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud-native deployability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
• Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using IaC principles.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and updates.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for cloud-native environments and deployability.
