Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and deployment of cloud solutions for clients in South Africa. You will translate workload needs into scalable architectures across Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, with VMware expertise, while guiding proposals and present technical strategies to CIO-level stakeholders.

Qualifications

Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Managed Service or Cloud Service Provider role.
Proven expertise in designing and architecting cloud solutions on Azure, GCP, AWS and VMware cloud solutions.
Strong understanding of cloud services, virtualization, networking, and security.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) are a plus.
Understanding of virtualization, hybrid computing environments, storage technology and cloud native tech.
Understanding of cloud networking and security.
Advising on automation playbooks using Morpheus and Hostbill.
Translating workload requirements into systems and process designs.
Ability to develop quality proposals for Data Centre Transformation and Managed Services.
Ability to present technical solutions to CIO and Chief Architect levels.
Ability to manage multiple complex proposals with tight deadlines.
Ability to write and present technical materials, diagrams, and flowcharts.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
Design and conceptualization of digital products/services.
Produce multiple concepts and prototypes for development.
Deliver defined features or outcomes from development programs.
Recommend technical developments to improve quality of website/portal/applications.
Discuss and recommend developments to meet user needs.
Develop and enhance applications and roadmaps to align with business requirements.
Test IT performance and respond to user emails for issues.
Conduct customer and market research to support strategy.
Support digital strategy and data-driven product/service improvement.
Design and deliver new and enhanced portals/websites to meet plans.
Lead cloud infrastructure design and architecture for clients.
Assess client needs and configure private/public/hyperscale clouds.
Create detailed technical documentation and diagrams.
Collaborate with sales to present compelling technical proposals.
Participate in client meetings to address technical inquiries.
Translate client requirements into actionable solutions with technical teams.
Identify best practices for cloud infrastructure design and optimization.
Stay updated on latest cloud technologies and trends.
Produce high-quality technical write-ups and solution documents.
