Placements24 is seeking an experienced Facilities Cleaning Manager for Pretoria to plan and oversee cleaning and sanitation across multiple commercial properties. You will lead a large staff, manage budgets, and drive high hygiene standards to enhance tenant and visitor experiences.

The role requires 7+ years in facilities management or cleaning operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership position, and a strong grasp of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in facilities management or cleaning operations, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
• Experience managing 20+ staff and large budgets.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning science, sanitation standards, and green cleaning.
• Proficiency in FM software and MS Office.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to implement operational strategies and process improvements.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Qualifications in FM, Hospitality, or related field desirable.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Pretoria.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute cleaning and sanitation strategies for multiple facilities in Pretoria.
• Manage, train, and motivate a large team of cleaning staff, supervisors, and foremen.
• Oversee budget planning and control for the cleaning department, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance programs for all cleaning services.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building codes.
• Manage vendor relationships for specialized cleaning services and supplies.
• Implement and optimize cleaning schedules and workflows for maximum efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits and site inspections to ensure high standards and identify improvements.
• Develop and deliver training programs for cleaning staff on new techniques and safety protocols.
• Act as the primary point of contact for cleaning-related matters with property managers and tenants.
