About the role

Our client is looking for a Senior Claims Consultant for our Life Claims Management Team reporting to the Head of Claims Operations. The Life Claims Management Team is responsible for prudent risk management and contributing to the profitability of the Munich Re of Africa Branch (MRAB) Life portfolio.

Responsibilities

  1. Providing claims risk management expertise to the MRAB Life team and clients.
  2. Marketing of claims risk management services to clients (Life Insurance companies).
  3. Promoting and ensuring claims risk management practices relating to the MRAB Life portfolio.
  4. Establishing and managing relationships with Claims Managers and other decision makers.
  5. Ensure profitability of portfolios through prudent claims risk management practices.
  6. Providing advice to clients with regard to international and local best practices.
  7. Responsible for ensuring validity of claims.

Requirements

  1. BSc – Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or Equivalent
  2. Minimum 5 years life claims assessment and case management experience in the insurance industry (dealing with Life Claims)
  3. Sound report writing skills
  4. Fair financial acumen
  5. Ability to analyse data that inform business practices and approaches.
