Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer in Mahikeng, North West to lead water supply, treatment and wastewater projects. You will oversee design, feasibility studies, and construction oversight for municipal infrastructure, ensuring compliance with SA standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc/MSc in Civil Engineering, is registered with ECSA as Pr. Eng., and brings 8+ years of progressive project leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng. is mandatory.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a water or environmental focus.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS) and CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of water supply networks, treatment plants, pumping stations, and wastewater systems.
• Oversee the planning and execution of major water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Conduct detailed feasibility studies, site investigations, and environmental impact assessments.
• Prepare comprehensive design reports, technical specifications, and contract documents.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of civil engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with clients, municipal authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with SANS and environmental legislation.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and site supervision during construction.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water or Environmental Engineering. Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. is mandatory. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale municipal projects and complex systems. Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D). Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, wastewater management techniques, and network design. Excellent leadership, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet challenging project deadlines. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Mahikeng and possess a valid driver's license.
