Job summary

Haskoning is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead design for complex, internationally oriented data center projects within the Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) unit. You will integrate civil engineering with BIM leadership, coordinating with architects, mech/electrical disciplines and clients.

You will oversee Revit/Civil 3D design, guide BIM modelers, and ensure design quality while coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs and optimizing performance across project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or Construction Engineering with civil focus.
• At least 7–10 years of relevant civil engineering design experience in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical sectors.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Civil Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design and model civil engineering components above and below ground using Revit and Civil 3D.
• Guide, manage, and coach Civil BIM Modelers.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain direct client communication.
• Prepare and review permits, tenders, and construction documentation.
• Interpret geotechnical reports and perform hydraulic and related calculations.
• Review designs to ensure quality and drive improvements.
• Support construction phase by addressing technical queries from contractors.

At Haskoning, you will work on complex and internationally leading data center projects within our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) business unit. You will combine technical expertise with design coordination and quality assurance. In this role, you bring together civil engineering knowledge, BIM expertise, and multidisciplinary collaboration in one challenging position.

What you do as a Senior Civil Engineer

scale data center projects. You will work closely with engineers from disciplines such as architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, and fire safety, while also liaising directly with clients, authorities, and contractors.

You combine hands-on design work (Revit/Civil 3D), technical guidance of BIM modelers / junior engineers, design quality management, and coordination of multidisciplinary inputs. You understand the requirements of each design phase and actively contribute to design optimization and continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design and model civil engineering components, both above and below ground, using Revit and Civil 3D.
• Guide, manage, and coach Civil BIM Modelers.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and maintain direct communication with clients.
• Prepare and review documentation for permits, tenders, and construction packages.
• Interpret geotechnical reports and perform relevant civil engineering calculations, such as hydraulic calculations.
• Ensure quality by reviewing designs and documents produced by colleagues.
• Proactively identify and implement design optimizations and improvements.
• Support the construction phase by responding to technical queries from contractors.

What you bring

You are an experienced Civil Engineer with a passion for complex technical projects and a strong focus on both collaboration and technical excellence.

You Have

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, or a Construction Engineering degree with a strong civil engineering focus.
• At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design within the commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction sectors.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Civil Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Revit (the leading platform within MCF projects), Civil 3D and experience with ACC/Forma. Knowledge of Revizto, and iDAS Devotech is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of underground infrastructure systems (drainage, water, power, and data networks) and above-ground civil works (pavements, roads, and site development).
• Experience with permitting processes, tender documentation, and delivering international projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English, combined with resilience under pressure and a proactive, hands‑on mindset.
• An affinity for sustainability and the drive to deliver high-quality solutions within Mission Critical Facilities projects.
