Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemist (Organic Synthesis) in Mossel Bay to lead advanced multi-step organic synthesis projects. The role combines hands-on laboratory work with data analysis and cross-functional collaboration, supporting scalable routes and high-quality compounds.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with at least five years of R&D experience, demonstrates extensive knowledge of synthetic methodologies, and communicates effectively within a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry, preferably in an R&D setting.
• Proven expertise in a wide range of organic reactions and synthetic strategies.
• Proficiency in using analytical instruments for compound characterization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Hybrid work setup experience is a plus.
