Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer to lead capital projects in Soweto. The role covers the full lifecycle from concept to handover, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, 5–7 years of chemical engineering experience with 3+ years in project management, and strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
5–7 years in chemical engineering, with at least 3 years in project management or project engineering roles.
Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
Familiarity with PMI or PRINCE2 project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

Manage the planning, execution, and closure of capital projects.
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure success.
Oversee design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations and environmental policies.
