Job summary

Optimal Growth Technologies in Bloemfontein seeks an experienced WAN, Check Point Firewall & Azure Networking Engineer for a 6-month contract. You will design, implement, administer, monitor and optimise enterprise network and security environments, with emphasis on availability, performance, security and resilience.

You will work across WAN, Check Point firewall, and Azure Networking domains, handling routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, and cloud integrations.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT/Networking degree or diploma required.
• Check Point certification (CCSA/CCSE) advantageous.
• AZ-700 Azure networking certification advantageous.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise WAN and LAN networks.
• Manage WAN connectivity, routing and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Configure BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
• Monitor network availability and performance.
• Support HA and disaster recovery for network infra.
• Install, configure and maintain Check Point firewalls.
• Manage firewall policies, NAT, VPNs and security configs.
• Run firewall rule reviews and optimisation.
• Monitor firewall logs and security events.
• Design and support Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN).
• Configure VNet, subnets, UDRs, load balancers and private endpoints.
• Support hybrid connectivity and cloud migrations.
