Greys Recruitment client seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the accounts function, ensure accurate reporting, maintain client relationships and ensure statutory compliance. The role covers reconciliations, invoicing, fixed assets, management accounts, payroll, tax returns and process improvement.

The ideal candidate holds CA(SA) with SAICA, a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, PGDA/CTA, Matric, and at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience including 3 years in practice, plus

Qualifications

• VAT knowledge including zero-rated and exempt transactions
• Tax calculations and provisional tax knowledge
• Financial reporting and management accounts
• Strong communication and numerical abilities
• Attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Client-focused approach and proactive collaboration
• Experience in accounting practices a plus

Responsabilités

• Prepare and review bank, customer and supplier reconciliations
• Prepare customer and supplier invoices
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register
• Prepare Management Accounts
• Complete stock reconciliations
• Manage payroll, including fringe benefits, allowances and bargaining council requirements
• Prepare and process PAYE, VAT and UIF returns
• Assist junior accounting staff with accounting queries and processes
• Liaise with clients and respond to queries professionally
• Ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met
• Maintain accurate and confidential financial records
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation and company policies
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and generate additional revenue
