Placements24 is seeking a Senior Catering Supervisor to oversee catering operations in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on leading a catering team, ensuring high standards, and delivering exceptional client experiences across events.

A hands-on leader with strong food safety knowledge and adaptability is preferred. Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining hygiene standards, coordinating event setups, and managing inventory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the catering or hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and catering operations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays for events.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily catering team activities for efficient service delivery.
• Train, mentor, and manage catering staff in line with policies and standards.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation and service during events with quality and consistency.
• Manage inventory of catering supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels.
• Enforce hygiene and safety standards in kitchens and service areas.
• Coordinate with clients and event organizers to confirm details and requirements.
• Assist in planning and setup of catering services for events.
• Address client feedback and operational issues promptly.
