Introduction

To execute the category strategy in order to achieve and exceed the category financial targets through rapidly accelerating category depth, strengthen pricing strategy, reporting and management of the M & T services to increase market share and profitability.

Job Objectives:

  • To translate the operating and financial plans into a balanced product assortment and visual on-shelf display to meet the customers’ needs.
  • To regularly review performance indicators, such as sales, margin and promo quantification, keeping the business updated on financial performance versus market and plan.
  • With managerial support, to negotiate favourable trading terms and promotional spend (co-op), actively cultivate, develop and maintain vendor relationships and partnerships to ensure vendor performance and first to market with new product launches.
  • To assist in ensuring speed to market by listing product range/s and delivering timeously to meet our customer's needs.
  • To ensure the accurate and timeous and approved delivery of the marketing (M&T) promotional (YPL) on the in store TV channel through effective engagement between Clicks, BTB agency and the In store TV providers.
  • To participate in the category strategic initiatives by providing input into the development and delivery of the category operating plan, e.g., market trends, research competitors, e.g. on shelf look and feel.
  • To administer and maintain the product database, e.g. listing products, vendors, product status, pricing etc.
  • To manage the control and review of marketing samples and pricing, both internally (BTB, Club card, Red-line, Brand Managers) and externally (vendors).
  • To liaise with stores and vendors with regards to pricing queries, product availability, promotions and action these requests or issues timeously.
  • Responsible for compiling and updating ad sheets, follow up with vendors with regards to deal confirmations and complete TEM Bill backs to maintain and improve the profitability of the category.
  • To ensure accuracy and efficiency of pricing, TEM bill backs, product listings, store notifications new lines, promotions (ad sheets), Co-Ops, new store openings, Club Card and Private label, etc under time and workload pressures.
  • To build relationships with the category team stakeholders and external customers.
  • To build and draw standard and customised Web Intelligence reports on the scheduled medicines merchandise group in line with business requirements for all reporting purposes on a weekly and ad hoc basis.
  • To manage the general office administration (filing, account queries) and ad hoc duties as required by the department.
