Brokers serve as an integral interface between Aon clients and prospects, and the various insurance markets.
The role of a Senior Casualty Broker is to collaborate with Client Managers, leveraging their technical expertise to manage diverse casualty insurance covers for a range of clients.
Clients depend on brokers to develop strategies for assessing, reducing, and transferring risk, utilising our specialised industry expertise and exceptional market knowledge. The role of a Senior Casualty Broker includes guiding client managers and clients in developing appropriate insurance and risk management solutions, presenting submissions to carriers, negotiating to obtain coverage that aligns with client requirements, supervising the creation of client proposals, and fostering strong relationships with key insurance markets.
A Senior Casualty Broker must have the skills and knowledge to strategise and effectively present terms to client managers and/or clients.
Additionally, the Senior Casualty Broker supports colleagues in broking, claims, and client management, assists clients, and trains junior team members and colleagues.

What the day will look like
Serves as the primary contact within the casualty broking team for specific clients, providing specialist advice to clients and colleagues nationwide.
Advises clients and colleagues on placement design, available coverage and capacity, pricing, potential coverage enhancements, and market developments within the scope of responsibility.
Collaborates with client managers to understand clients' coverage needs and how casualty (liability) insurance integrates with other product lines.
Guides the collection and analysis of relevant risk and claims information for risk transfer solutions.
Sources adequate coverage and competitive rates for clients and prospects.
Negotiates placement terms and conditions for accounts, offering expertise for challenging risks.
Provides coverage and programme design advice to client managers and clients.
Educates client managers and clients about various insurance markets and products.
Prepares submission/coverage specifications and submit proposals to insurers for quotes.
Receives quotes from insurers and negotiate optimal programmes for clients.
Compares coverage options and communicate programme improvements and recommendations to client managers or clients.
Understand and compare policy clauses and be able to design / improve wordings
Finalises insurer quotations and confirm coverage to ensure contract certainty.
Identifies appropriate channels for risk placement based on security guidelines and other requirements.
Issues broking notes, policies, and endorsements for renewals and new placements.
Assists as a technical resource for junior placement brokers.
Possesses an awareness of larger Aon / department / team strategies.
Builds strong relationships within the insurance markets and with relevant Aon network and internal stakeholders (Global Broking Centre (GBC), Aon Re, Risk Consulting, New Business, etc.).
Maintains awareness of all available Aon SPS products and utilise them appropriately.
Manages necessary information and complete required administrative tasks.
Applies company policies and procedures to resolve various issues.
Promotes the Aon brand.
