Job summary
A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team in South Africa. The role involves negotiating contracts for photovoltaic and wind projects, supporting business development, and liaising across departments. Candidates should have a degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement within construction or energy sectors.
Qualifications

- Knowledge of FIDIC or NEC contract templates.

Duties & Responsibilities
Within the Procurement Department of Sub-Saharan Africa, the selected person will be responsible for the following activities:
- She/He will give support to the Business Development Department by tendering and negotiating Heads of Terms with prospective EPC / Civil / Electrical contractors for Photovoltaic and Wind Projects in South Africa and other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, in both governmental and private business initiatives.
- She/He will give support to the Engineering and Construction Department by negotiating and finalising Construction Contracts for selected Photovoltaic and Wind Projects and by following and negotiating any eventual amendments thereof.
- She/He will give support to non-core Departments (e.g. ICT, Communications, Human Resources) by tendering, negotiating and finalising Supply and Services Contracts.
- She/He will give support to the Procurement Head of Unit by preparing and issuing reports relevant to the Procurement function (e.g. expenditure, procurement status, etc.)

Qualifications
Technical-professional knowledge:
Knowledge of Procurement processes, negotiation skills and exposure to construction and project environments. Team working, problem solving, analytical, working in autonomy. ERP system skills (preferably SAP)
Experience:
Degree in Engineering, Business or Quantity Surveying.
Minimum: 5+ years of work experience in Procurement or other related roles in construction, infrastructure or energy industries.
Experience in negotiating construction contracts for large projects.
Knowledge of FIDIC or NEC contract templates.
