Job summary

A leading fashion brand seeks a Formalwear Senior Buyer to join their buying team. Ideal candidates should have over 5 years of apparel buying experience, excellent planning and interpersonal skills, and a flair for trends and business strategy. This role will focus on sourcing and procuring formalwear while maximizing sales and building strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an apparel buyer.
  • Formalwear knowledge preferred.

An opportunity has become available in our buying team for a Formalwear Senior Buyer

Responsibilities :

  • Successfully source and procure a range of Formalwear,
  • Procure and range build appropriate ranges aligned to the strategy with special attention to all trading opportunities.
  • Work closely with the planner, through analysis of previous sales patterns, market trends and brand initiatives.
  • Formulate departmental strategies to maximize sales and then timeously source and secure stock to implement strategies.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with staff, suppliers (both nationally & internationally) and key functions in the business.
  • Think in terms of the "big picture" as well as consider specifics and detail.
  • Assess complex situations and implement workable solutions.

Requirements :

  • Have experience as an apparelBuyer (5+ years essential)
  • Specific Formalwear knowledge and experience is preferable
  • Have a high degree of organisation and prioritization skills
  • A working knowledge of the current computer software packages (knowledge of Excel, Word & E-mail would be preferable).
