About the Role

Our client, a leading retail group, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join their analytics team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This role is central to transforming raw data into actionable business insights that drive strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex BI solutions, including data warehouses, data marts, ETL processes, and interactive dashboards. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of SQL, experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and a deep understanding of data modeling principles. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement robust Business Intelligence solutions, including data warehouses, data marts, and OLAP cubes. Create and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to populate data warehouses from various source systems. Develop interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView). Perform data modeling and schema design to support analytical requirements. Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications. Optimize BI solutions for performance and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integrity, ETL processes, and report accuracy. Stay up-to-date with the latest BI technologies and trends. Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL). Hands-on experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView). Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes. Experience designing and developing ETL packages using tools like SSIS or Informatica. Familiarity with data visualization best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities. Experience with cloud-based BI solutions is a plus.
