Senior Business Developer

We are currently seeking a Senior Business Developer to be based in Sandton, Gauteng.

The Senior Business Developer will report directly to the Managing Director.

The successful candidate will lead the identification, evaluation, development, and negotiation of renewable projects, ensuring they reach financial close.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify and manage private PPA project opportunities within the renewable sector.
2. Manage negotiations and prepare bids.
3. Identify and pursue tender opportunities within the renewable sector.
4. Conduct due diligence on projects for acquisition.
5. Engage with potential off-takers for private PPA opportunities.
6. Prepare and present all project documentation required to secure project development budgets.
7. Oversee the entire project development process from origination to financial close.
8. Analyze project risk allocation.
9. Negotiate and finalize documents such as PPAs, EPC and O&M arrangements, and Shareholders' agreements.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
• An MBA would be advantageous.
• 5-7 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
• More than 4 years of experience in business development.
• Experience in bringing projects to financial close.
• Knowledge of agreements such as Power Purchase Agreements, partnership agreements, off-take agreements, and shareholder agreements.
