The Information & Data Architect at Nebula Logistics will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company's data architecture to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.

The role involves developing a strategic approach to data governance, optimizing data flows across business functions, and supporting digital transformation initiatives.

Key Deliverables and Outputs

1. Design and implement the overall data architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals.
2. Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
3. Work closely with business units to define data requirements and ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
4. Optimize data storage, retrieval, and distribution mechanisms.
5. Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).
6. Develop and maintain enterprise data models, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
7. Collaborate with IT teams to design and maintain cloud and on-premises data infrastructure.
8. Support data analytics and business intelligence teams by ensuring data availability and quality.
9. Drive the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and big data solutions to enhance business intelligence.
10. Provide thought leadership in data architecture, ensuring best practices are followed.
11. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related technical issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Note: Driver's license with own car.

Experience

1. 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, or a similar role.
2. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data processing frameworks.
3. Expertise in data security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
4. Experience in logistics or supply chain industries is a plus.

Knowledge

1. Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, data warehouses).
2. Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and API integrations.
