Job description

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering the company's business requirements, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing, and documenting requirements. They will support the communication and delivery of these requirements to help the delivery team better meet the company's demands.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring

  • Identify the appropriate stakeholders
  • Determine the activities required to successfully complete the business analysis
  • Track and communicate the progress of work items throughout the SDLC
  • Accurately estimate the required business analysis of work items
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the source system, including accounting structure, rules, and calculations

2. Requirements Elicitation, Management and Collaboration

  • Investigate, evaluate, design, and propose solutions to address business requirements
  • Validate that the stated requirements match stakeholders’ expectations
  • Work with project stakeholders to identify, model, and document requirements and business domain details
  • Structure requirements in an understandable format for all stakeholders
  • Ensure timely analysis and documentation of business requirements for the delivery team
  • Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate teamwork and provide excellent service
  • Communicate requirements to stakeholders and obtain sign-off within the estimated timeframe
  • Facilitate meetings, give presentations, resolve conflicts, negotiate, and influence others
  • Conduct workshops to gather information from multiple sources and gain consensus where possible
  • Identify and document areas of opposing opinions

3. Requirements Analysis

  • Prioritize requirements effectively
  • Use text, matrices, diagrams, and formal models to conceptualize requirements
  • Define assumptions, constraints, and risks
  • Ensure requirements specifications meet quality standards
  • Validate that all requirements support the Pepkor Payments and Lending business architecture

4. Solution Assessment and Validation

  • Ensure proposed solutions meet stakeholders’ requirements
  • Assist the testing team to validate solutions against business requirements
  • Assess organizational readiness to effectively utilize the solution

5. Enterprise Analysis

  • Identify new capabilities needed to meet business needs
  • Define which capabilities will be delivered in each project iteration

6. Life Cycle Management

  • Act as the interface between business and delivery teams during the SDLC
  • Understand and describe the core functions of the business’s system
