Senior Business Analyst (Hybrid) required in Cape Town.

Senior Business Analyst | Hybrid | Johannesburg or Cape Town | Permanent.

Are you the kind of BA who doesn’t just gather requirements – but sees the gaps, reads the room, and drives a solution through to delivery? We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst with the kind of depth that only comes from experience. Someone who’s walked the path, made the mistakes, learnt the lessons – and knows how to lead a project from a blank page to a working system.

In this role, you won’t be spoon-fed. You’ll be running small engagements end-to-end: meeting with clients, gathering and documenting requirements, scoping and sizing the work, managing delivery, and mentoring others along the way.

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s worked across different domains, knows how to ramp up quickly, and thrives in environments where no two projects look the same.

Type: Permanent – Hybrid (3 Days in office).

Salary: R90k – R110k+ pm (negotiable depending on experience).

Area: Century City / Hyde Park.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading full-cycle software delivery engagements across multiple client projects
• Gathering, analysing and documenting business and technical requirements
• Managing delivery across the SDLC – from early discovery to go-live
• Running workshops, facilitating user stories, managing backlogs and grooming sessions
• Collaborating closely with developers, designers, architects, testers and stakeholders
• Drawing up wireframes, customer journeys, functional specs, and process flows
• Managing scope, expectations, risks and timelines like a pro
• Getting involved in architectural conversations and influencing design decisions
• Mentoring junior team members, and being a calm, mature voice in tough moments
• Driving change within teams and earning trust with clients

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in IT, Engineering, Sciences or BCom Information Systems
• A proven Senior BA with at least 6 years of experience in agile software teams and consulting companies
• Strong technical understanding — you can speak dev without being a developer
• A confident facilitator, presenter, and communicator
• A track record of managing scope, stakeholders, and small projects end-to-end
• You’ve worked across industries and are quick to get up to speed in new domains
• You’re someone who asks “why” before jumping to “how”
• A natural mentor who can hold others accountable with empathy and clarity
• Comfortable in hybrid working environments (3 days in-office)

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience with APIs, data flows and integration-heavy systems
• Exposure to tools like BPMN, UML, design thinking frameworks
• A strong interest in solution architecture or product design
