Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Brand Manager to lead their brand strategy and drive business growth.
As a key member of the marketing team, you'll develop and execute innovative brand initiatives that resonate with our client's national target audience and drive revenue.
Position : Senior Brand Manager
Location : Roodepoort, Gauteng
Reports to : Business Unit Head
Role Purpose :
Manage assigned brands to ensure market share growth and product profitability.
Minimum Requirements :
Degree in Marketing or Business Management
Relevant experience in applying job-related concepts, techniques, and processes at the required level
Experience in working with senior management
Working knowledge of Social Media Platforms (e.g., LinkedIn)
Business English : Fluent
Code 08 Driver's license
Willingness to travel off-site / overnight stay
Roles and Responsibilities :
Plan, coordinate, and implement strategies, marketing plans, and budgets.
Review and develop strategic and annual brand plans with marketing budgets for the product portfolio.
Implement roll-out and coordinate brand plan activities among all involved parties.
Support 'Below-the-line' activities, including POS, sampling, and activations.
Plan and interpret brand architecture, blueprint, and diamond.
Manage and optimize brand / product life cycles within the portfolio.
Evaluate and maintain brand image elements such as logos and graphic design.
Conduct quarterly P&L evaluations per SKU per channel and take corrective actions to improve profitability.
Product Development & Launch :
Liaise with product development to identify, develop, and launch new product concepts.
Coordinate updates / upgrades of product packaging with R&D.
Present product concepts, proposals, and business cases.
Manage product launches and post-launch evaluations.
Develop marketing support campaigns for new products and line extensions.
Ensure comprehensive U&A research is conducted regularly.
Analyze research results to improve future product performance.
Commission annual brand health studies to keep brands relevant.
Evaluate market trends and share using Nielsen reports and other data sources.
Marketing Budget & Expenditure Control :
Develop briefs and evaluate supplier quotes.
Verify invoices and create purchase orders.
Monitor and process marketing expenses.
Report on marketing expenditure versus budget.
Ensure compliance with audit and procurement processes.
Analyze sales volumes and profitability by SKU, region, and channel.
Make recommendations based on sales analysis and coordinate action plans with sales teams.
Identify and address sales issues in collaboration with sales and key accounts.
Assist demand planning with volume projections based on brand activities.
Staff Management (where applicable) :
Ensure optimal utilization of staff.
Apply consistent discipline.
Train and develop staff.
Conduct meetings and ensure effective communication.
Liaise with management across departments.
