Job summary

Mirna Butler Recruitment seeks an experienced Bookkeeper in Bloemfontein to manage financial records, ensure accuracy, and assist with reports up to trial balance and management accounts.

The role requires 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, VAT knowledge, and proficiency with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Pastel, plus strong Excel skills. You will maintain supplier and customer ledgers and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Experience processing accounts up to trial balance.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, debtors, creditors, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Pastel, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain daily banking transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations accurately and timeously.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Manage and submit VAT returns.
• Maintain and monitor inventory records.
• Manage creditors administration, including supplier reconciliations and payments.
• Manage debtors administration, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations.
• Process financial transactions up to trial balance.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
