Job summary

Profile Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Finance team in South Africa. This role will handle full bookkeeping, payroll administration, statutory compliance and support the Financial Manager with timely financial information.

You will manage daily bookkeeping, month-end reconciliations, statutory returns, payroll processing and HR records, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Relevant bookkeeping qualification with a minimum of 10 years' experience.
• Proficiency in Pastel Asset Register and AccSys Payroll.
• Experience preparing statutory returns and financial statements.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and Outlook skills, with SARS e-Filing proficiency.
• Understanding payroll processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping activities including cashbook, petty cash, journals, payments and financial records.
• Perform month-end reconciliations and close procedures.
• Prepare trial balances, financial statements, and group reporting packs.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL) with GL reconciliation.
• Manage the full payroll process including wages, deductions, benefits, leave, bonuses, IRP5s, queries.
• Maintain payroll and HR records including attendance and personnel files.
• Manage fixed asset register, depreciation, additions and disposals, reconcile to GL.
• Complete inventory period-end processes and reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end procedures, audits, and supporting documentation.
• Provide financial and HR administration support to the Financial Manager and other departments as required.
