A leading financial services firm in Pretoria is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator. The successful candidate will manage the full bookkeeping function and administer payrolls with accuracy and compliance, ensuring timely reporting. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in Accounting, at least 5-8 years of experience, and proficiency in payroll software. This role offers a salary of R30,000 - R37,000 per month.

Qualifications

Senior Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator POS25225

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full bookkeeping function and administering multiple payrolls across various entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 58 years bookkeeping experience (to Trial Balance).
  • Proven experience in processing multiple payrolls.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., Sage, VIP, Pastel Payroll, or similar).
  • Excellent knowledge of SARS requirements and labour legislation.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records up to Trial Balance; Process journals, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions; Manage creditors, debtors, cashbooks, and bank reconciliations; Assist with preparation of management accounts and audit support; Process VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
  • Payroll Administration: Full payroll function for multiple entities (monthly, bi-weekly, and / or weekly); Ensure accurate processing of salaries, benefits, deductions, overtime, and leave; Submit EMP201, EMP501, UIF, SDL, and other statutory returns; Ensure compliance with SARS, BCEA, and labour legislation; Maintain accurate employee records and handle payroll queries; Prepare payroll reports for management.
