Senior Bookkeeper (QuickBooks)

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Bookkeeper with advanced proficiency in QuickBooks to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a variety of clients and will work closely with accountants and partners to ensure the smooth delivery of our accounting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online and Desktop
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements across multiple clients
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Prepare and maintain general ledgers and trial balances
  • Generate financial statements and customized reports
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial packages for CPAs
  • Support tax preparation with accurate records and documentation
  • Liaise directly with clients for document collection, queries, and clarifications
  • Provide guidance to junior staff or bookkeepers when required
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits and compliance
  • Stay updated on accounting and QuickBooks best practices

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a public accounting firm
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) is essential
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with payroll, sales tax filings, and multi-client environments is a plus
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other accounting platforms (e.g., Xero or Sage) is advantageous

Education & Certification
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • QuickBooks Certification preferred
  • Bookkeeping or Accounting designation (e.g., ICB, SAIPA, AAT) is a plus
