One of our large fleet management clients based in Sandton is urgently in need of a Trustworthy Senior Bookkeeper, to start as soon as possible.
Job Purpose :
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping operations, and ensuring the smooth running of financial processes through to the balance sheet stage. This role requires excellent problem-solving and finance skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to adhering to company procedures. The Senior Bookkeeper must be trustworthy, detail-oriented, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Requirements :
Grade 12 with Mathematical Literacy
A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or similar) or equivalent work experience
5-10 Years Experience
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage), Excel, and general office software
Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve financial discrepancies and issues
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail when processing transactions and preparing reports
Own transport
Duties :
Complete Bookkeeping Duties : Maintain financial records, process transactions, and reconcile accounts up to the balance sheet
Financial Reporting : Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with company procedures
Accounts Management : Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet business needs
Problem Solving : Address discrepancies, identify solutions, and resolve accounting issues promptly and effectively
Collaboration : Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure seamless communication and process integration
Compliance : Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies
Audit Preparation : Assist with audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and financial statements are accurate and accessible
Continuous Improvement : Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
