Job summary

A leading recruiting firm in Johannesburg is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification, at least 10 years of working experience, and proven abilities with SAGE Evolution and strong Excel skills. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, managing inventory control, and assisting in month-end processes. Own transport is required for this position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience in finance.
  • Experience working within a multinational environment is an advantage.
  • First Language - English is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records up to Trial Balance.
  • Manage inventory control systems and processes.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, journals and reconciliations.

Skills

Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Proven experience with SAGE Evolution Accounting Package

Overview

Manufacturing concern based in Germiston is seeking an Accountant to join their finance team.

Total cost to company R720k

Responsibilities
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records up to Trial Balance
  • General ledger and lead sheet maintenance
  • Account Receivables & Customer ledger processing and reconciliations
  • Account Payables & Supplier ledger processing and reconciliations
  • Bank and payment preparation and reconciliations
  • Credit card statements and expense claim reconciliations
  • Process monthly journals and adjustments
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, journals and reconciliations
Other
  • Manage inventory control systems and processes
  • Customer Liaison for spares orders
  • Quotations, orders, invoices, stock preparation and distribution.
  • Plan and oversee stock takes
  • Visa and travel planning and control
  • Back-Office support and ad hoc administrative duties
  • General Office orders – refreshments, canteen and stationery
Requirements
  • Matric Certificate
  • Relevant qualification
  • 10 years’ working experience
  • Proven experience with SAGE Evolution Accounting Package
