Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping operations, and ensuring the smooth running of financial processes through to the balance sheet stage. This role requires excellent problem-solving and finance skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to adhering to company procedures. The Senior Bookkeeper must be trustworthy, detail-oriented, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Complete Bookkeeping Duties : Maintain financial records, process transactions, and reconcile accounts up to the balance sheet.
- Financial Reporting : Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with company procedures.
- Accounts Management : Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet business needs.
- Problem Solving : Address discrepancies, identify solutions, and resolve accounting issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure seamless communication and process integration.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Audit Preparation : Assist with audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and financial statements are accurate and accessible.
- Continuous Improvement : Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Key Skills & Qualifications :
- Experience : Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage), Excel, and general office software.
- Problem-Solving : Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve financial discrepancies and issues.
- Attention to Detail : Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail when processing transactions and preparing reports.
- Communication : Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Teamwork : Ability to work effectively with colleagues across various departments while meeting deadlines.
- Under Pressure : Able to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ethical Standards : Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
Educational Requirements : A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or similar) or equivalent work experience
