Job summary

AES Global is seeking a hands-on Senior Bookkeeper to take full ownership of its finance function in Durban. This standalone, full-function role entails running the books end to end, handling day-to-day money movement, and keeping a lean operation running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have real bookkeeping experience in a business environment, work independently without close supervision, and be the go-to person for finance in the business. In-office position in Durban.

Qualifications

• Two years of commercial bookkeeping experience post-articles.
• Articles completed in SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA.
• Hands-on invoice processing, debtor management and payment loading.
• Pastel proficiency; comfortable with payroll and VAT.
• Ability to work independently across finance and office support.

A small, growing business is looking for a hands-on Senior Bookkeeper to take full ownership of its finance function. This is a standalone, full-function role - not a cog in a large finance team. You'll run the books end to end, handle the day-to-day money movement, and keep a lean operation running smoothly.

The right person has done real bookkeeping in a business environment, works independently without close supervision, and is comfortable being the go-to person for finance in the business.

What you'll own

• Invoice processing and preparation of monthly accounts
• Bank account management and loading of payments
• Debtor management - following up and keeping the ledger clean
• Payroll processing
• VAT preparation and submissions
• Processing and reconciliations on Pastel
• General finance administration and month-end
• Office and operational support across the business

What you'll need

• At least two years' commercial bookkeeping experience in a business environment, gained after completing your articles
• Completed articles in a financial background - SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA
• Hands-on invoice processing, debtor management and payment loading
• Pastel proficiency, and comfort across payroll and VAT
• The ability to work fully independently across both finance and office support

Who fits
