Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in a senior bookkeeping function.
  • Preferably a completed BCom degree or a Diploma in Business or Accounting.
  • Exposure to business processes and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage bank reconciliations, invoices, and VAT.
  • Oversee transaction management and maintain Debtors/Creditors.
  • Collaborate with sales and support teams.

Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a leading restaurant reservation platform. Working closely with the CFO, you'll become an integral part of a tech-driven, professional, and polished business. This role offers the chance to take full ownership as you bring your expertise, maturity, and efficiency to the team. You will have the opportunity to learn and be stretched week-to-week. This is a full-time, in-office role, with flexibility, for someone who can bring the right combination of expertise, collaboration and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Bank recons, invoices, expense management and reconciliation, debit order management
  • Overseeing the management of several complex transactions at any given time
  • Maintain and manage VAT and PAYE
  • Debtors and Creditors function
  • Email management for the accounting/finance function of the business
  • Administer Proprietor Registration Forms and onboarding documentation
  • Management of any charge/bank dispute
  • On-boarding new clients
  • Depend on and collaborate with sales, client and support teams
  • CIPC annual returns and requirements


Areas of growth/Advantageous:
  • Audit reports, income tax and provisional tax
  • Tax knowledge & business processing
  • Annual reviews and Management reports
  • Management accounts
  • SME experience ideal


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience
  • Preferably a completed BCom degree or a Diploma in Business or Accounting
  • 6 years' plus experience in a senior bookkeeping function
  • Business exposure outside of the accounting function
  • Interest in business process and optimisation
  • Xero experience essential (ideally Dext and Netcash)
  • Knowledge of online banking environments
  • Previous working experience in Hubspot


Expected

  • Experience in/ability to quickly grasp electronic platforms, payment gateways and management of SMS credits
  • Your ability to fully manage a broad role across all things finance
